Brittany Beiersdorf

Bio

Brittany was born in Dallas, Texas. As a child she would travel with her mother to England where the rest of her family is. At the age of thirteen Brittany moved to the valley of the Blue Ridge Mountains, an area in northern Virginia. This place became the sanctuary and inspiration for Brittany. It was during her high school years where she became very interested in film-making as an artistic medium. The School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston became the type of school she was looking for in a post high school experience. She later went on to get her Bachelor of Fine Art in photography at School of Visual Arts in New York City.  Brittany has traveled to many places yet recalls the landscape of Virginia, as a metaphor to invoke the unknown. The experience of traveling has created a constant dialogue with surroundings as explorations leading to creation. The idea of cycle and returning to places, landscapes that are associated with mystery, have been the main influence of this collection of photographs. Brittany is based in New York City, has a design collection under the name Les Descendants du Dragon and works from her studio in the West Village.
